After sitting out practice throughout the week, C.J. Spiller is officially inactive for Sunday’s matchup against the New Orleans Saints. Fred Jackson will be the starter for Week 8, and Tashard Choice should be in the mix for carries in the backfield as well.
C.J. Spiller inactive, Fred Jackson sees a boost in fantasy value
As expected, C.J. Spiller won’t be suiting up for the Bills in Week 8. We break down the fantasy implications.

Spiller was doubtful heading into Sunday, so his status isn’t a surprise. The Buffalo Bills appear to be allowing him to fully recover from his ankle injury before returning to the field.
Fantasy impact: Jackson’s value is looking up. He found the end zone in four of his past seven games, and he should be the primary ballcarrier in the backfield for the Bills today. Choice is simply there to take some of the pressure off the veteran back, as Jackson is known to struggle with injuries as well.
The Saints defense is improved this year, but they rank No. 22 overall in rushing yards allowed per game (114.0). The Bills need to rely on Jackson and the run game to get things going offensively. Does anyone expect Thad Lewis to carry the team against a top 10 secondary?
