Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White is dealing with a high ankle sprain and a hamstring injury, and head coach Mike Smith doesn't know if he'l be able to play in the team's Week 9 matchup against the Carolina Panthers, according to Joe Person of The Charlotte Observer. Smith said it's "too early to tell," according to Person.
Roddy White’s status for Week 9 in doubt, fantasy owners should be wary
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White may not be ready to go for Week 9. We break down the fantasy implications.

White sustained the high ankle sprain in practice and made things worse on himself by refusing to miss time. White’s goal was to keep his streak of consecutive games played intact, but after being ineffective for much of the season and sustaining a hamstring injury, the Falcons made him inactive.
He hasn't played since Oct. 7 and given this news, he may not play in Week 9. Fellow receiver Julio Jones is out for the season, leaving Harry Douglas and Drew Davis as the top two wide receivers in Atlanta. Obviously, that's not good news for the Falcons.
Fantasy Impact: White isn’t a smart start even if he does play. With how poorly he played all season and the fact that the Falcons used him as a decoy more often than naught, he doesn’t have the confidence of fantasy owners until he has a big game. He’s certainly plenty talented, but right now Douglas is a better option. Davis is a solid option in deep leagues as a WR3 or WR4. We’ll know more about White on Friday.
