Despite nursing an ankle injury, C.J. Spiller was ready to go for Thursday night’s game against the Browns. He finished with 66 yards and a touchdown on eight carries in Week 5. Spiller also showed off his explosive speed while breaking away for a 54-yard score in the third quarter.
C.J. Spiller comforts fantasy owners with huge scoring run in Week 5
C.J. Spiller finally scored a touchdown. Owners can relax a little. We break down the fantasy implications.

The Bills didn’t overwork Spiller so his ankle likely is not 100 percent yet. He didn’t appear to be limited at all, however, while busting off the second longest run of his career.
Fantasy impact: Fred Jackson took twice as many carries as Spiller which likely is more of a statement about the health of the two running backs. With extra time to prepare for the Bills’ game against the Bengals next Sunday, Spiller should be ready for an expanded role.
Buffalo continues to frustrate fantasy owners with its usage of Spiller. He didn’t receive a single target in the passing game again. It’s hard to believe a player with this much talent can be underutilized so often.
