Stevie Johnson didn’t have much time to make an impact in Week 5, as back pain limited the Bills top wideout for much of Thursday night’s game against the Browns. Johnson took himself out of the game at one point, with multiple writers noting he was “writhing in pain.”
Stevie Johnson worries fantasy owners after leaving with injury
The Bills were without their No. 1 receiver for much of Thursday night’s matchup with the Browns. We break down the fantasy implications.

Johnson attempted to come back in, but he couldn’t handle it. The veteran wideout finished with two receptions for 19 yards on three targets.
Fantasy impact: After developing what appeared to be an impressive rapport with rookie quarterback E.J. Manuel, Johnson’s last two games have been regrettable. He went unnoticed in Week 4 against the Raves, and now he has a back injury to worry about.
Johnson was dealing with a hamstring injury last week, and now his back issue has flared up again. He dealt with back pain in OTAs as well. Manuel also left Thursday night with a knee injury. Even if Johnson is able to return next week, he won’t provide much value to owners if Manuel is out. Jeff Tuel isn’t turning any wideout into a fantasy stud.
