Matt Forte rushed for 55 yards on 12 carries and caught four passes for 40 yards against the Saints in Week 5. He mishandled his first touch of the game on a pitch from Jay Cutler, and struggled to break free for any huge plays throughout the afternoon.
Matt Forte has a mediocre fantasy afternoon in Week 5
The Bears abandoned the run early on Sunday, leaving Matt Forte with a lesser workload. We break down the fantasy implications.

Although Forte did pick up good yardage at times, the Bears fell behind early, trailing 20-7 at halftime. Chicago was forced to abandon the run late in the second half while trying to play catch-up, leading to fewer touches for Forte this time around.
Fantasy impact: When you look at Forte’s numbers, it’s hard to believe the Bears don’t give him the ball more. He was stuffed at the line several times in the early stages of Sunday’s game, but Forte started to find the right holes and came up with a few double-digit plays.
The Bears take on the Giants next week, so owners are probably already drooling over the matchup. New York has been terrible all season, which should equate to another huge day for Forte. He's easily in RB1 territory once again.
