The Atlanta Falcons would like to get veteran running back Steven Jackson involved more in the offense, according to Vaughn McClure of ESPN. Some have questioned whether or not the team would use more of Jacquizz Rodgers or Jason Snelling, but offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter said that Jackson is "one of those guys that gets better the more he touches it."

Atlanta has certainly struggled, regardless. They have the worst rushing attack in the NFL to compliment the league’s No. 6 passing attack. They rush for just 64.3 yards per game on average, and Jackson’s 47 carries for 151 yards with no touchdowns doesn’t exactly bolster those numbers. He’s got a per-carry average of 3.2 yards.
Jackson’s aforementioned average is noticeably lower than Rodgers’ (3.6 yards per carry) and Snelling’s (3.7 yards per carry). But the Falcons believe that Jackson will get better if he gets more carries. He was injured for a good portion of the season, so the team could be on to something.
Fantasy Impact: We liked Jackson’s chances before the season started. He seemed like a solid choice for the Falcons, but he immediately sustained an injury and hasn’t looked the same since returning. He could surprise and turn it around for a game or two, but seeing him play at a high level for the remainder of the season seems unlikely at this point. He’s not a terrible option in deep leagues, but that’s about it.
