Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Cecil Shorts has had enough. After catching two passes for 22 yards in a Week 11 loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, Shorts voiced his displeasure with the offense in the locker room.
Cecil Shorts wants more targets; fantasy owners agree
Shorts has only nine targets in the last two games. That won’t work.

Shorts told reporters after the game that he was going to have to sit down with the coaches and discuss his role, because “it’s getting ridiculous,” according to Ryan O’Halloran of the Florida Times-Union. He only had five targets in the game, four of which came in the fourth quarter.
Fantasy spin: Shorts has been a decent fantasy football option this season because the Jaguars are often trailing in games and need to throw the ball often. However, after getting 10 targets or more in each of the first seven games in which he played the entire game, Shorts has combined for nine targets in the last two weeks.
While coach Gus Bradley said he understands where Shorts is coming from, he doesn’t want his team to get in the habit of voicing these things publicly. Shorts’ problem has as much to do with his quarterback as it does the game plan. Here’s hoping Shorts gets the ball more going forward.
