Pierre Thomas rushed for 73 yards on 10 carries and caught five passes for 57 yards on six targets in Week 12 against the Atlanta Falcons. Darren Sproles was inactive for Thursday night’s game, leaving the Saints to lean on Thomas.
Pierre Thomas puts in decent fantasy numbers with Darren Sproles out
The Saints were without Darren Sproles on Thursday night, and Pierre Thomas fared well as the go-to back. We break down the fantasy implications.

While Thomas only has four touchdowns on the year, he continues to rack up yardage each game. He continuously made the most of his touches against the Falcons, gaining extra yardage after initial contact on most plays.
Fantasy impact: The Saints didn’t give Thomas a huge boost in touches with Sproles out. However, he still looked impressive as the No. 1 back. Thomas now has 56 catches, and he is averaging over 5.0 yards per carry in his last six games.
If Sproles isn’t playing, Thomas is in the RB2 range. With both backs on the field, they’re still worth flex plays in most leagues. PPR owners should always have Thomas in their lineups.
