Oakland Raiders running back Darren McFadden could return to action on Thursday against the Dallas Cowboys. That does't mean he's guaranteed to get his starting spot back though, as noted by Inside Bay Area. McFadden sustained a hamstring injury on Nov. 3 and missed most of that game on top of the past three full games.

Darren McFadden could return soon, but how many of Rashad Jennings’ carries will he take? We break down the fantasy implications.

Rashad Jennings has started in his place, and he's looked great. Jennings has carried the ball 73 times for 413 yards with two touchdowns over the time McFadden has missed with this particular injury. On the season, Jennings has 109 carries for 553 yards and two touchdowns. His per-carry average on the season is 5.1 yards.
Over the course of the last four games, his per-carry average is 5.7 yards, and no running back in the NFL has as many yards over that time. Terrelle Pryor is actually second on the team in rushing, with McFadden coming in third at 98 carries for 352 yards and four touchdowns.
Fantasy Impact: Obviously, McFadden has been a fantasy dud this season. He’s not panned out, but the injury risk is always there with him. Still, when he was healthy, he didn’t look like his formal self. Jennings is almost assuredly a better option at this point and it seems unlikely that McFadden will take even the majority of carries from him at this point in the season. Still, this could be bad news for Jennings owners as it should take some carries from him.
