Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson will likely abstain from surgery on his sprained right foot, but his status for Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles is still in doubt. While Peterson wants to play in Week 15, an unnamed team official said it was too early to tell, according to Brian Murphy of the Pioneer Press.
Adrian Peterson’s status ‘too early to tell,’ fantasy owners should wait and see
Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson could miss Sunday’s game, but it’s too early to tell. We break down the fantasy implications.

Peterson left Sunday's 29-26 loss to the Baltimore Ravens early in the second quarter, but x-rays were negative and he returned to the sidelines. Peterson did his best to try and get back into the game but ultimately was unable to come back, especially given the snowy conditions on the field.
Minnesota is well out of the playoff race at this point. Peterson obviously has nothing left to prove, but despite being listed as questionable on the injury report multiple times this year, he has not missed any time, so who knows what will happen at this point?
Fantasy Impact: Obviously, if it's likely Peterson will play Sunday, then fantasy owners should start him. Peterson is not the kind of guy you leave on the bench, even if he's projected to be somewhat limited due to his injury. He's too good to leave sitting, but it seems unlikely he'll play at this point. Fantasy owners should be ready for a backup option (not the injured Toby Gerhart), and keep an eye out on Friday and Saturday.
