Washington Redskins tight end Jordan Reed's rookie season comes to an abrupt end. Multiple sources told FOX Sports' Ross Jones that the Redskins will shut down Reed for the rest of the season. Reed is still dealing with severe concussion symptoms and the team doesn't want to risk his health further in a lost season.
Jordan Reed’s fantasy season over with severe concussion, per report
Jordan Reed’s promising rookie season comes to an end after suffering a concussion in Week 11. We break down the fantasy implications.

Reed hasn’t played since suffering the concussion in Week 11. He got in some limited practice and was hoping to return in Week 13, but was scratched after experiencing headaches hours before the game. He hasn’t practiced since then. Reed was enjoying a breakout rookie year before the concussion, hauling in 45 catches for 499 yards and three touchdowns in nine games.
Fantasy impact: Reed will now have several months to rest up and get ready for the offseason program. Re-draft owners will be disappointed that he can’t help them in the fantasy playoffs, but he remains a valuable asset in Dynasty leagues. Reed should be one of the top fantasy tight ends heading into 2014.
