Ryan Mathews rushed for 128 yards and one touchdown on 29 carries against the Denver Broncos in Week 15. It was the second week in row Mathews received 29 carries, and he managed to post a season-high in yards this time around.
Ryan Mathews goes off in fantasy in Week 15
The Broncos couldn’t stop Mathews on the ground, as he posted a season-high in rushing yards. We break down the fantasy implications.

Mathews now has five touchdowns and over 1,000 yards on the year. He only caught one pass for a single yard on Thursday night, but his role has shifted to the ground game.
Fantasy impact: If you stuck with Mathews this season, he’s paid off. It would be nice to see more consistency in the passing game, but Danny Woodhead is reserved for that role in the Chargers offense. Mathews is doing a good enough job with his carries to provide value.
Next week Mathews faces a Raiders defense that allows 105.9 rushing yards per game. His first game against Oakland in Week 5 was cut short, but he’s easily in the RB2 range here.
