Buffalo Bills quarterback E.J. Manuel underwent a knee procedure and has been ruled out for the rest of preseason, the team announced on its official website.
E.J. Manuel to miss preseason with knee surgery, should fantasy owners be concerned?
E.J. Manuel needs a minor knee procedure and will be out for the rest of the preseason. We break down the fantasy implications.

Manuel had swelling on his left knee on Saturday morning and had an MRI. The examination revealed that he will need a minor scope done on the knee. Kevin Kolb will start the remaining preseason games while Manuel recovers. There is no word on his availability for Week 1.
The first-round rookie completed 26 of 33 passes for 199 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in two preseason starts.
Fantasy impact: The team doesn’t seem worried about the procedure, but this does give Kolb a chance to get back into the starting QB competition after a poor showing Friday. Fantasy drafters should probably avoid this entire situation until we have a more clear timetable on Manuel’s return. He’s one of the few rookie quarterbacks who could make a fantasy impact in 2013.
