Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon will now sit for a couple weeks before he's able to return to the team due to a two-game suspension, but he gave Browns fans something to be excited about on Thursday. Gordon, a noted deep threat, caught a 45-yard pass to begin Thursday's game against the Chicago Bears, and a 42-yard pass later in the game as well.
Josh Gordon proves he’s a deep threat again, could pay off in fantasy after suspension
Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon showed, once again, that he’s a deep threat on Thursday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Gordon, a pick in the supplemental draft, put up 805 yards off of 50 receptions, with five touchdowns last season. His longest reception last season was 71 yards. Cleveland is decidedly short on receiving options, so Gordon was expected to be one of their top receivers this season.
Unfortunately, he does have to serve the aforementioned two-game suspension and is dealing with some off-the-field issues. It seems like there’s some kind of drama around every corner each and every week, which is a shame given how well he plays the deep ball.
Fantasy Impact: Gordon isn’t a smart first or even second option right now, given that he will miss two games. He also has only had the one season to his credit, but he’s shown again and again that if he knows how to do anything, he knows how to catch a deep ball. He can make up ground very fast once he gets back in the regular season and he could end up paying off if you get him late or in free agency.
