Rob Gronkowski makes 53-man roster, becomes less risky in fantasy
The Patriots did not place Rob Gronkowski on injured reserve and he made the 53-man roster. We break down the fantasy implications.

Since he avoided the PUP list or IR-designated to return, the Patriots believe he will be back before Week 6. The team waived Daniel Fells and Jake Ballard on Friday, so the writing was on the wall that Gronk was going to make the team.
Fantasy impact: His value definitely went up this weekend and anyone that took a chance on him in the fifth round or so is probably feeling good about it. The consensus around the team is that he could be back before Week 4, so if he stays healthy, he could be worth as much as a third-round pick. He scored 11 TDs in 11 games last year and with the Patriots having so many new pieces in their passing game, Tom Brady would like a player with which he has a rapport.
