Cam Newton gives his fantasy owners 229 passing yards and two touchdowns in loss
Cam Newton left his fantasy owners with much to be desired after posting a conservative number of fantasy points versus the Bills. We break down the fantasy implications.

Newton also added just 15 yards on four scrambles, and did not attempt a designed run during the game. It’s Newton’s second modest fantasy point total in as many games this season, as the Panthers did not dial up many attempts to challenge the Bills on deep passes. However, Newton was able to find Ted Ginn for a long 40-yard score through the air to salvage his fantasy total.
Fantasy Spin: It's a disappointing outing for a quarterback who was one of the first of his position off the board in drafts, but the light at the end of the tunnel is that he faces the Giants in Week Three. As a result, a more vertical game plan should be in order, as well as an open middle of the field against a depleted linebacker unit. Given Newton's average draft position, patience needs to be exercised, and two average-scoring games out of the gate is no cause for concern.
