Saints running back Mark Ingram is inactive for the team's matchup with the Cardinals, according to ESPN's Adam Caplan.
Mark Ingram is inactive versus Cardinals, fantasy ripple effect remains minimal
The Saints will be without their short-yardage back for the team’s matchup with the Cardinals. We break down the fantasy implications.

The news does not come as a huge surprise as Ingram did not practice with the Saints all week due to a toe injury. With that and the team’s depth at running back, there was no real pressure for team brass to get Ingram into the huddle on Sunday.
Fantasy Spin: The ripple effect from Ingram's injury will have more fantasy implications than Ingram's own fantasy impact. As a result of Ingram's absence, expect Pierre Thomas to handle his short-yardage and goal-line responsibilities and receive a slight uptick in snaps and touches. The role of Darren Sproles should not be greatly impacted, and he should remain entrenched as an RB2 in PPR leagues. Thomas is a sneaky flex play in deep leagues only, and Ingram can be safely dropped in most formats. On the season, Ingram has 31 yards on 17 carries.
