Mark Ingram expected to seek trade from Saints, per report, future fantasy value remains uncertain
Per CBSSports.com’s Jason LaCanfora, Saints running back Mark Ingram may ask for a trade out of New Orleans. We break down the fantasy implications.

The Saints currently have five running backs and have not found much of a niche for Ingram, whose snaps have been limited as a downhill runner on a pass-first team. Because his short-yardage and goal-line responsibilities can be satisfied with other backs on the roster, Ingram is expendable and could very well land in a system that suits his skill set.
Fantasy Spin: Should Ingram be sent away to another city, the value of the other running backs of the Saints committee should not change very much. Thomas will likely assume Ingram's role, but because it was so minimal to start, it will not alter Thomas' standing as a deep-league stash. Darren Sproles remains the top receiving option, and amid a team that throws so much, his value remains a high-upside RB2 in PPR leagues.
As for Ingram, his value will depend on his landing spot would be. He has provided the Saints with little value, and has unimpressed this season with 31 rushing yards on 17 carries. His career 3.9 yards per carry average in an offense that forces defenses to respect the pass could also have teams shy away from giving him lead-back duties. They would be well justified to not hand that job over right away, if at all.
