Colin Kaepernick’s three-touchdown performance against the Packers in Week 1 led to an immediate dry spell afterward, as he failed to score in Weeks 2 and 3. He finally broke out of those woes, though, as he completed 15-of-23 passes for 167 yards and two touchdowns against the Rams on Thursday night.
Colin Kaepernick finds end zone again for fantasy owners
The 49ers didn’t have to throw often on Thursday night, but Colin Kaepernick managed a pair of touchdowns in the first half. We break down the fantasy implications.

Kaepernick only rushed for 11 yards on three carries, his lowest totals in four games this season. He also lost a fumble in the second half on a botched handoff. With the Rams struggling to move the ball on offense, the 49ers didn’t need to turn to the passing game often.
Fantasy impact: Owners can start backing away from the ledge just a bit. Kaepernick is going to get back to his high-scoring ways; it’s just going to take some patience. If the Rams had been able to put any pressure on the 49ers with their offense, Kaepernick would have made more of an impact with his arm.
San Francisco takes on Houston in Week 5. Assuming that matchup will be closely contested, Kaepernick will need a solid performance to take down a formidable AFC South opponent. Owners can feel confident again.
