Atlanta Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez put together a throw-back performance in Week 4, hauling in 12 receptions for 149 yards and two touchdowns. The Falcons comeback effort came up short, but Gonzalez was a key part of putting the Falcons in position to knock off the Patriots.
Tony Gonzalez puts up dominant fantasy performance
Atlanta Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez caught 12 passes for 149 yards and two touchdowns in a throw-back performance. We break down the fantasy implications.

Gonzalez and Julio Jones were the two most targeted receivers on the night, with Ryan looking Gonzalez's way 14 times, and Jones' way 13 times. The Falcons did not stick with their ground game, opening the door for Gonzalez on more of the short work, and it panned out.
Fantasy impact: Prior to Sunday, Gonzalez had not surpassed 36 receiving yards. He had a touchdown in Week 1, but for the most part the future Hall of Famer was quiet in what is likely his final season in the NFL. This was a great performance, but it is not likely to be a regular thing. He will throw them out there on occasion, but as Roddy White and Steven Jackson get healthier, look for Gonzalez to remain in the 30-50 yards, and maybe a touchdown type performance.
That being said, the Falcons host the New York Jets on Monday Night Football next week. Gonzalez remains a solid start every week in that you know he will avoid the goose egg. His upside is limited to a certain extent at this point, but the talent is still there. He is a solid start against an inconsistent Jets defense.
