New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks didn’t blame his poor Week 4 on his hand injury. We break down the fantasy implications.

Nicks was targeted nine times on Sunday, an increase of eight passes thrown his way from Week 3, but he only managed to catch three of them for 33 yards. Nicks also got his hands on three other passes, but all of them were dropped, which is the big issue. If a receiver is well covered, then he’s well covered, but these were blatant drops.
The hand injury in question was sustained in Week 2, in which he caught four passes for 83 yards. Before that, he caught five passes for 114 yards in the opener. He's been productive at times, but along with his quarterback, Eli Manning, and the rest of the team, he's in a slump.
Fantasy Impact: It’s good to see that Nicks believes the injury has not played a factor, which should be a relief for fantasy owners. What isn’t a relief is the fact that Nicks is supposed to be one of the top receivers out there and hasn’t looked the part since Week 1. It would almost be preferred that there was something like an injury to explain his performance. Nicks remains a must-start, but his level of play has been concerning.
