Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III didn't have a perfect day (and hasn't come close this season), but he did enough for his team to pick up its first win of the season against the Oakland Raiders on Sunday. Griffin has had a rocky start to 2013. He’s struggled so much that the 14 or so fantasy points he earned in standard leagues was high for him this season, all things considered. He’s thrown for more yards and more touchdowns previously, but he’s also thrown for interceptions in each of the first three games of the season.
Make no mistake: Griffin is an excellent quarterback and should have some very big fantasy games this season. It just hasn’t happened yet, and the Redskins are currently 1-3 under him. A win over the Raiders is still a win ... but they’re still the Raiders.
Fantasy Impact: Griffin continues to be so-so in fantasy, but he also continues to have the potential to put up more fantasy points than just about anybody else. If you’re a fantasy owner with Griffin in any kind of league, then you’re in for the long haul. He’s not injured, he doesn’t look terrible and the threat is always there, so he remains a must-start going forward.
