Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Jordan Matthews will remain a slot receiver for the team, according to Geoff Mosher of CSN Philly. Head coach Chip Kelly said that Riley Cooper is doing a good job on the outside and that he wants a "big, physical" presence in the slot, which Matthews certainly provides.
Jordan Matthews to remain slot receiver; fantasy value low for now
Jordan Matthews has a lot of big-play potential, but he’s the third receiver on the field for now. We break down the fantasy implications.

Matthews has made the most of his opportunities thus far, catching 15 passes for 141 yards and two touchdowns. Cooper has been somewhat disappointing, with 15 receptions for 125 yards and no touchdowns. Matthews seems to have a lot more upside and potential, but for now, he’s not going to get increased targets, at least according to Kelly.
Fantasy Impact: Matthews might be a huge fantasy playmaker if only he’d get the chances, but if he’s going to remain in the slot then he’s going to remain the third receiver on the field. He’ll continue to get fewer targets than Cooper and will remain an outside option for fantasy owners on a week-to-week basis. Things could change as the season progresses, however. It stands to reason that a big game would give him the boost he needs over Cooper.
