The Tennessee Titans beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 16-14 Sunday, cementing the win with a last-second blocked field goal. Despite the win, the fantasy production out of the Titans left a lot to be desired.
Titans fantasy football recap: Kendall Wright no-shows; Jackie Battle scores
It’s nice for Titans fans that the team won and all, but the fantasy performances just weren’t there Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

The Titans managed only one touchdown in the game, and with no players going for more than 77 yards, it was a bunch of nothing for fantasy out of the game. Here’s a look at what meager production there was:
The backup quarterback, pressed into action for a third week because of injuries to starter Jake Locker, threw for 233 yards and avoided a turnover in the game, but without a score his value stayed fairly low. Whitehurst is just a space filler in Tennessee for however long it takes Locker to get healthy and/or the team to move on to Zach Mettenberger, and he should be treated as such in fantasy.
Those waiting eagerly for Sankey's coming-out party had to be furious Sunday. The rookie running back tied his career best with 61 rushing yards, and had a career-high 18 carries. But the team handed the ball to backup running back Jackie Battle at the end zone, giving him the score at the expense of Sankey. The Titans gave only six carries to all players not named Sankey, and two of those went to Whitehurst, so Sankey is likely to carry the load going forward, but the team's reluctance to buy all the way in on the rookie will keep his value in check.
A week after 99 yards and a touchdown that came almost entirely on a single play, Hunter came back with the same number of catches and fewer yards, but he at least balanced his production more, with 77 yards on three catches, but no more than 38 yards on any single play. He’s still not getting enough play to be in fantasy lineups, but at least his usage is on the rise.
So, it was great that Wright put up 20 fantasy points last week. Nice to see. But he followed that with one catch for 6 yards Sunday, against a Jacksonville defense that ... doesn’t often stop people. He now has four or fewer fantasy points in four of his last five games, and it’s really hard to see any way to run him out in weekly fantasy lineups.
The tight end’s production has dropped off a bit the last couple of weeks. He went for 57 yards on three catches Sunday and was targeted eight times. Walker is still a must-start at tight end, though we might not see him offer another big run of games like he did early in the season.
