Bengals fantasy football recap: Andy Dalton, Mohamed Sanu, Giovani Bernard and Jeremy Hill go off

The Bengals put up some serious points on offense against the Panthers. We break down the fantasy implications.

John Grieshop

The Cincinnati Bengals had their ups and downs on offense, but they got it going in a big way against the Carolina Panthers. The game ended in a 37-37 tie and they'll prepare for a road game against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 7.

Andy Dalton

He threw the ball 43 times against a solid Panthers pass defense, completing 33 of those passes for 323 yards, two scores and two interceptions. Dalton was sacked once and added 25 rushing yards.

Even without receiver A.J. Green today, the Bengals didn't have any problems in their highest-scoring game of the season. Dalton had season highs in yards, completions, attempts, rushing yards and tied his high in touchdowns.

Fantasy owners can consider him a low-end QB1 next week against the Colts.

Giovani Bernard

He had his first 100-yard rushing game of his career Sunday, carrying the ball 18 times for 137 yards on the ground to go with four catches for 20 yards. Gio had an 89-yard touchdown make his day, so the other 17 carries provided little output at just 48 yards. He did suffer a shoulder injury in this game but was able to return.

Even though Gio doesn’t put up big-time rushing yards, he’s still capable of racking up the yards in the passing game. He’s a No. 1 RB in PPR and a strong RB2 in standard. You’ll want to start him against the Colts.

Jeremy Hill

With Bernard out of the lineup due to a shoulder injury, Hill stepped it up in the passing game, catching four balls for 13 yards. He wasn’t too effective on the ground, rushing for 22 yards on eight carries.

Hill did add a 3-yard touchdown run and continues to help in the short-yardage game. Assuming everything checks out with Bernard, Hill won’t be worth using in most leagues. Still, he’s an elite handcuff and should be stashed in all 10-team leagues.

Mohamed Sanu

With A.J. Green out, it was going to be the Sanu Show and it was quite the show for those who bought tickets with a waiver claim. He caught a game-high 10 receptions for 120 yards and one score on his 14 targets.

Even before the Green injury, Sanu was coming on strong with a 70-yard, one-score game against the New England Patriots in Week 5. He's clearly separated himself as a go-to guy while the Bengals are banged up.

If Sanu is still out there on the wire, your league probably should expand. His fantasy value probably won't improve much with Green expected to be back soon and Marvin Jones also on the comeback trail.

Jermaine Gresham

He has been extremely quiet all season and should have been much better after Tyler Eifert’s Week 1 elbow injury. Gresham finally picked it up in Week 6, catching six balls for 68 yards.

He’s still a little too risky to use and is more of a high-upside TE2.

Brandon Tate

He caugght a 16-yard touchdown and looks to be more involved in the offense with Green and Jones out. Of course, there isn’t much reason to add him in fantasy formats.
