New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham will step into a starting role with Victor Cruz injured, as noted by Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News. Cruz is likely out for the season, taking away one of the most prolific receivers in the league and Eli Manning's most dangerous weapon.
Odell Beckham will step into starting role with Victor Cruz out; fantasy value rising
Odell Beckham will take Victor Cruz’s starting spot. We break down the fantasy implications.

That leaves Rueben Randle as the starter outside, and Beckham, the rookie first-round pick, attempting to fill Cruz's role. More accurately, Beckham will move into a starting spot, but probably won't be asked to do everything that Cruz did previously. It means a much heavier workload, premium snaps against premium cornerbacks and what will wind up being a different-looking offense overall. Randle, Beckham and tight end Larry Donnell will be carrying this offense now.
Fantasy Impact: Beckham has a ton of potential to do big things, but again, he'll be going up against top cornerbacks and be asked to do an awful lot just two games into his NFL career. Beckham caught just two passes for four yards against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. Prior to that, he caught four passes for 44 yards and a touchdown in his NFL debut against the Atlanta Falcons. Fantasy owners can expect big things out of Beckham, but it might take a while.
