San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis appears to be set for Monday Night Football. ESPN's Lisa Salters reports that Davis will be active for the game against the St. Louis Rams.
Vernon Davis expected to make fantasy return on Monday night
All signs point towards Vernon Davis suiting up in Week 6. We break down the fantasy implications.

Davis has been banged up this season, appearing in only three out of five games. He missed Week 3 with an ankle injury and then suffered a back ailment that forced him to sit out Week 5. Davis was limited in practice this week and listed as questionable on the injury report, but he’s fully expected to make his return. He has nine catches for 91 yards and two touchdowns on the year.
Fantasy impact: Davis should return to TE1 territory even with the injuries starting to pile up. Michael Crabtree should also be active, giving Colin Kaepernick a full arsenal of weapons he hasn't always had this year. The Rams defense isn't an easy matchup -- they're allowing only 192.3 passing yards per game, fewest in the NFL -- so fantasy owners should probably keep expectations tempered for Davis. He can be safely inserted back into lineups, though.
