New England Patriots running back Shane Vereen scored two receiving touchdowns against the New York Jets on Thursday, totaling 47 rushing yards on 12 carries to go with five catches for 71 receiving yards.
Shane Vereen has his annual fantasy breakout game
Shane Vereen scored a couple receiving touchdowns. We break down the fantasy implications.

He caught a 49-yard wheel route-like pass as the Jets blew their coverage on him. Vereen was the lead back with his 17 touches, which was 14 more than backups Jonas Gray and Brandon Bolden combined.
Vereen was the lead back as the Patriots tried to salt away rest of the game, which bodes very well for his outlook. He didn’t have any double-digit carries coming into this game, and that might be a regular thing.
Fantasy impact: While Vereen’s fantasy value gets some new life, he’s a bit of a sell-high player. Fantasy owners can look to get back third-round value because of his injury risk. Although, he’ll be a borderline RB1 in PPR leagues the rest of the way.
