Fantasy football Week 5 projections: Jets-Chargers featuring Chris Ivory, Philip Rivers, Eddie Royal
We break down the Week 5 matchup between the New York Jets and San Diego Chargers.

New York Jets
Running back Chris Ivory managed 51 yards on nine carries on the team's first drive of the game against the Detroit Lions last week. It was absolutely baffling that Ivory only saw eight carries in the rest of that game, but given he's the only player on the team that can move the ball forward and the Chargers are relatively friendly to running backs, he should be in for a better Week 5. Although teammate Chris Johnson has publicly voiced his displeasure at a lack of touches, Ivory should continue to get more of an edge, especially if he plays well this week.
When Ivory and the Jets' offense look to the passing game, wide receiver Jeremy Kerley will no doubt be quarterback Geno Smith's best option. Kerley was held to just a single catch last week, but he's pretty much the only pass catcher capable of helping the team move the chains down the field. His performance this week will depend on Smith's accuracy, but the fantasy world knows the Jets need to start winning now if they don't want to start thinking about 2015 just yet. Kerley will be a sneaky producer against the Chargers as long as he can turn targets into catches.
San Diego Chargers
Philip Rivers has been absolutely outstanding for his fantasy owners this season. His solid play continued again last week against the Jacksonville Jaguars as Rivers threw for 377 yards and three touchdowns, absolutely shredding a helpless Jags' defense. While the Jets have a defense that is far better than that of Jacksonville's, their offense is going to have a tough time going toe to toe with Rivers and the gang, so it could mean a lot of touchdowns for the quarterback on a tired secondary in Week 5.
When Rivers does need to go to the air he'll be looking for receiver Eddie Royal to be on the other side of the football. Royal has four touchdowns over the last two weeks, making him a popular waiver wire addition at the moment. He's been targeted at least six times in every game this season and with teammate Malcolm Floyd producing at a slow pace, Royal is probably the one Charger most likely to score a touchdown this week besides tight end Antonio Gates.
