Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer has been ruled out for the team's Week 5 game against the Denver Broncos. Palmer has a shoulder injury that has forced him out of the past two games. It's actually a nerve injury, and Palmer is stumped as to how to proceed. He's trying to avoid surgery, but there's essentially no recovery timeline.
Carson Palmer injury update: QB out; Drew Stanton a so-so fantasy option
Carson Palmer will miss another game with a shoulder/nerve injury. We break down the fantasy implications.

The nature of the injury means Palmer is in pain, and it means his arm strength is significantly reduced. He's attempted throwing here and there, but has also missed a significant amount of practice time. Drew Stanton is set to start in his place. Stanton has played decent football, completing 32 of 62 passes for 411 yards with two touchdowns. Palmer was better in his one start though, completing 24 passes for 304 yards and two touchdowns.
Fantasy Impact: The Cardinals are 3-0, so Stanton is working out for now, but he doesn’t offer much fantasy upside. Palmer owners have no idea when he’ll be back at this point though, so Stanton is the guy to start if you haven’t already found a Palmer replacement on another team. Palmer is probably a guy whom fantasy owners can part with at this point.
