Fantasy football projections, Week 5: Seahawks vs. Washington featuring Russell Wilson, Marshawn Lynch, Percy Harvin and DeSean Jackson

We break down the Week 5 matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and Washington.

Daniel Shirey-USA TODAY Sports

The Week 5 matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and Washington features two conference rivals with radically different fates since they both took a quarterback in the 2012 NFL Draft. We've got the fantasy projections for you, courtesy of NumberFire.

Seattle Seahawks

Quarterback Russell Wilson is off to a great start and has the looks of a back-end QB1. He has passed for at least two touchdowns in all three of his starts this year with only one interception. Wilson is still an unlikely candidate to pass for 4,000 yards in a season, but he accuracy, vision and mobility give him the edge to continue to produce.

Marshawn Lynch shows no signs of slowing down despite being 28 with over 1,800 carries on his resume. "Beastmode" has five touchdowns in three games and high-upside backup Christine Michael has not been the threat to his workload as some predicted in the beginning of the season. The Seahawks receiving corps leaves much to be desired for fantasy purposes but the speedy and versatile Percy Harvin has proven to be an asset while finally healthy. He's a high-upside WR3. None of Seattle's tight ends are worth mentioning for fantasy purposes.

Washington

Washington’s tumultuous start to the season has led to plenty of fantasy inconsistency which isn’t likely to change. Quarterback Kirk Cousins seems to have a case of Jekyll & Hyde. Owners aren’t sure what to expect, his Week 3 line of 30-of-48 for 427-3-1 or his Week 4 numbers of 19-of-33 for 257-1-4. Things won’t get any easier for him in Week 5 against Seattle’s elite defense.

Running back Alfred Morris had proven to be one of Washington's most steady offensive weapons. He's averaging over 17 carries per game, has found the end zone three times and is a solid back-end RB1. The same can not be said for their receivers. Pierre Garcon looks to be a PPR boom-or-bust option as he's either caught more than 10 passes in half his games or less than three in the other half. DeSean Jackson is in the same boat. He's got a decent 15-207-1 line on the season but has only caught two passes for 28 yards in two home games. Tight end Niles Paul has been one of the few bright spots. Filling in for the injured Jordan Reed, Paul has caught 21 passes for 313 yards and one touchdown on the season. He's a legit low-end TE1 option until Reed comes back.
