Carolina Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart (knee) and Darrin Reaves (hip) did not participate in practice on Wednesday, according to Steve Reed of the Associated Press. Stewart has 88 yards rushing and one touchdown on just 29 carries through three games this season. Reaves on the other hand has just 61 yards rushing on 23 carries this season.
Jonathan Stewart, Darrin Reaves sit out practice Wednesday, fantasy status questionable
The Panthers’ running back is still on the sidelines and yet says he expects to play in Week 6. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy Impact: Stewart stated last week he was ready to go and didn't play so he may not be ready for Week 6 after all. That said, coach Ron Rivera did say earlier this week that he's hopeful Stewart can play. Now that a separate report indicates Reaves is also ailing, it seems Chris Ogbonnaya might have an outside shot at starting in Week 6.
That said, if Stewart is itching to go and the team needs him, you can bet the coach is going to try his best to get him in the lineup.
Fantasy owners should note that although Stewart’s current status is doubtful, he could easily get upgraded depending on his practice reports on Thursday and Friday. Reaves’ status is also up in the air for Week 6.
Aside from Ogbonnaya, Fozzy Whittaker could also be a factor in Carolina's running game on Sunday.
