Bobby Rainey got the start, but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers went more heavily with Charles Sims as their top running back Sunday. Neither offered a lot of production, but it was a change in approach as the Buccaneers beat Washington, 27-7.
Fantasy football waiver wire, Week 12: Charles Sims overtakes Bobby Rainey
The Tampa Bay running game is just awful right now. We break down the fantasy implications.

Rainey ran the ball only five times Sunday, gaining 4 yards in the process. Sims, meanwhile, had 13 carries for 36 yards, adding three catches for 8 more. The team’s running backs combined for 2.2 yards per carry. It was Sims’ second career game after missing the first half of the season with an injury. In those two games, he has 84 total yards from scrimmage.
Fantasy impact: It's hard to imagine a situation in which someone could feel comfortable starting any Tampa Bay running back. Doug Martin was awful when he was on the field, and has now missed three games in a row. Rainey has struggled as well, and was an utter non-factor Sunday. And Sims got the touches, but didn't do enough with them to inspire much confidence going forward.
Sims, the rookie who appears to have so much upside, is the Buccaneers running back to own, though he needs to be far from a starting lineup. Martin is obviously droppable in all leagues, and Rainey is close to that as well.
