Fantasy football Week 9 projections: Cardinals-Cowboys featuring Carson Palmer, Andre Ellington, DeMarco Murray and Dez Bryant

The Week 9 matchup between the Arizona Cardinals and the Dallas Cowboys could feature a handful of rushing touchdowns. We've got the fantasy projections for you courtesy of numberFire.

Running back Andre Ellington will be facing a Cowboys run defense that gives up 4.8 yards a carry on Sunday. That's reason enough to start him in Week 9 as Ellington continues to rack up total yards and touchdowns on a regular basis. He's especially proven valuable in PPR leagues this season and ran for 71 yards last week including his second rushing touchdown of the season. He should see plenty of touches moving forward and will probably find his way into the end zone again, one way or another against the Cowboys.

Ellington will of course be catching all of his passes out of the backfield from none other than quarterback Carson Palmer, who's been solid in leading the team to a 5-1 record. He completed 20 passes for 329 yards, 2 touchdowns and no interceptions last week including a 75-yard touchdown strike to John Brown late in the game to seal the win. He should be one of the team's top performers against a Cowboys team that's only slightly above average in terms of conceding fantasy points to quarterbacks.

Whether quarterback Tony Romo (back) plays hurt in Week 9, it remains to be seen how effective he can be for the duration of the season. His injury against Washington last week likely means the team will rely on running back DeMarco Murray even more now. Murray was held out of the end zone against Washington for the first time this season. He still made up for it by racking up 221 total yards in the game. He's established himself as the crème de la crème of fantasy running backs this year, so he'll be in fantasy lineups against the Cardinals by default.

As much as the Cardinals are known for their defense, fantasy owners should probably have wide receiver Dez Bryant in their lineups too. He's going up against an Arizona secondary that has actually given up the second most fantasy points to wide receivers this year. Bryant made a great play for a touchdown against Washington last week, stretching for a score just before a tackler forced his knees down to the ground. He'll likely exceed the three catches for 30 yards he produced against Washington even if Brandon Weeden ends up starting at quarterback on Sunday.
