Fantasy football projections, Week 9: Eagles-Texans featuring Jeremy Maclin, LeSean McCoy and Arian Foster

We break down the Week 9 matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Houston Texans.

The Week 9 matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Houston Texans features two star-studded running backs going head-to-head. We've got the fantasy projections for you courtesy of numberFire.

Philadelphia Eagles

Wide receiver Jeremy Maclin was the Eagles' best player in the team's loss to the Arizona Cardinals last week. He caught 12 passes on a whopping 16 targets for 187 yards and two touchdowns. The effort marked his second 100-yard receiving game of the season. Although he has yet to eclipse that mark in back-to-back games this year, Maclin could be a good bet to do it this week against the Texans, who give up a lot of fantasy points to wide receivers.

If things don't work out in that regard, the offense will run through running back LeSean McCoy. McCoy put together 97 total yards on 24 touches last week and although the Eagles have had trouble with their offensive line this season, things appear to be getting better on that front. While he's definitely not producing at the clip fantasy owners hoped when they drafted him in the first round back in September, McCoy is still a solid and consistent fantasy producer. He could be in for his second 100-yard rushing game of the season on Sunday.

Houston Texans

Contrary to the Eagles' McCoy, Texans running back Arian Foster has produced exactly as advertised for his fantasy owners this season. Foster put together his fifth straight 100-yard rushing game in a row last week against the Tennessee Titans. He finished the contest with 151 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. There is no doubt he'll be up to his old tricks against an Eagles defense that is relatively friendly to running backs in general.

When quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick decides to go down the field, wide receiver Andre Johnson will be one of his intended targets. Johnson finds himself in unchartered territory this season. Through eight games, he has yet to go over the century mark in receiving yards and only has one touchdown on the season. The Eagles are one of the worst teams in the NFL at limiting the fantasy production of pass catchers, so Week 9 could finally represent the game that Johnston busts out for a big performance.
