Fantasy football Week 9 projections: Rams-49ers featuring Austin Davis, Anquan Boldin and Colin Kaepernick
We break down the Week 9 matchup between the St. Louis Rams and the San Francisco 49ers.

St. Louis Rams
With the Rams running a three-headed running back by committee system for the foreseeable future between the likes of Benny Cunningham, Zac Stacy and Tre Mason, it looks like the lead weapons in the offense will come from the passing game. That means wide receiver Kenny Britt is likely a fantasy owner's best option against the 49ers. Britt only managed two catches for 52 yards last week, but with Brian Quick (arm) out for the season, Britt is going to be getting a lot of looks in San Francisco this week.
Outside of Britt, quarterback Austin Davis will look to make an impact on Sunday. Davis put up with absolutely dud performance last week against the Kansas City Chiefs, but he has had some games that make him look like a future fantasy star this season. That said, it's tough to predict what he's going to do in San Francisco and all of his fantasy production will likely come as a result of playing from behind. Sometimes that can mean huge numbers in garbage time.
San Francisco 49ers
Quarterback Colin Kaepernick put on quite a show against the Rams in Week 6. He threw for 343 yards and three touchdowns in that game, leading the team to a come-from-behind win. He will look to repeat his success against a Rams defense that is giving up the sixth most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season. Kaepernick will no doubt use both his legs and his arm to put in a solid day's work for his fantasy owners.
Given that the 49ers have struggled with the running game this season, that likely means there's another big game against the Rams coming for wide receiver Anquan Boldin. Boldin benefited from his quarterback's solid play in Week 6, racking up 94 yards and his only touchdown of the season against St. Louis. He has 21 catches for 282 yards and two touchdowns in his last three games against the Rams. To say the least, all signs point to Boldin putting together another big performance in Week 9.
