The Jacksonville Jaguars continued to show improvement Sunday, despite losing their eighth game in nine tries. Jacksonville put up 23 points in their 33-23 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, their second-highest point total of the season.
Allen Hurns, Denard Robinson shine for fantasy as Jaguars lose
The two players combined for three Jacksonville touchdowns. We break down the fantasy implications.

The Jaguars lost their first four games by a combined total of 94 points. Since then, they’ve gone just 1-4, but have put up a point differential of only negative-16, with three of the four losses coming by 10 points or fewer. It’s a modest improvement, but for a team as bad as Jacksonville had been, any improvement is helpful.
Now for a look at the fantasy performances:
Blake Bortles: The rookie quarterback had his second-best fantasy performance of the season Sunday, with 16 fantasy points. He threw for 247 yards on 22-for-33 passing with two touchdowns, adding 10 yards rushing. More helpfully, Bortles was only intercepted once, just the second time all season he's had so few picks, and the first game of the season in which he's had more touchdowns that turnovers. Bortles remains little more than potential for fantasy, but this showed improvement.
Denard Robinson: Robinson continued to make Jags fans wonder why he wasn't the starter sooner. He had 94 rushing yards and a touchdown on 17 carries Sunday, with 10 receiving yards on two catches. That was good for 16 fantasy points, giving Robinson 15 a game in his last three since taking over as the team's starter. He's right in the RB2 conversation now.
Allen Hurns: The Jekyll-and-Hyde season of the rookie receiver continued Sunday. He caught seven passes against the Bengals for 112 yards and two scores, putting up 23 fantasy points. Hurns had 23 in Week 1 and 12 in Week 3, but had 14 combined in the season's other six games. Using him in fantasy is a high-upside play, but with a ceiling as low as any.
Allen Robinson: Robinson was looking like the clear No. 1 receiver in Jacksonville, leading the team's receivers in fantasy points in four games this season, including the last two. But Sunday, he caught only four passes for 35 yards. He was second on the team in targets with eight, but ultimately, Robinson is hard to use with any confidence.
Clay Harbor: The tight end had that big game in Week 6, but after three- and two-point performances in Weeks 7 and 8, no catches on two targets Sunday, and with starting tight end Marcedes Lewis eligible to return in the next few weeks, Harbor needs to be completely off any fantasy radar.
