Chiefs-Bills fantasy projections: Jamaal Charles, Travis Kelce, Sammy Watkins lead the way

The Week 10 matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills features one team at full strength while the other deals with question marks due to injuries. We've got the fantasy projections for you courtesy of numberFire.

After scoring just once on the ground in his first four contests, running back Jamaal Charles seems to have found his game. He's scored four times in the last three weeks and although the fact he hasn't had a 100-yard game yet this season has to be a bit concerning for his fantasy owners, Charles is still a consistent producer. Given that he has 56 carries over that same three-game stretch, not much should change in Week 10 despite the fact the Buffalo Bills are the fourth-ranked fantasy run defense.

In the passing game, rookie tight end Travis Kelce will look to build on a solid performance against the New York Jets last week. He caught four passes for 67 yards and a touchdown in the game, marking the first time he was able to find the end zone since Week 5. The good news for his fantasy owners is that Kelce has at least four receptions in each of the last three games and he's also fully recovered from an injury to his ribs. Both bits of good news and the fact the Bills are mediocre at covering tight ends could mean a nice stat line for Kelce on Sunday.

A groin injury sustained in practice has forced the Bills to mark wide receiver Sammy Watkins as questionable ahead of the game with the Chiefs. Though the team did send Watkins to the doctor for a precautionary MRI test, the team insists the injury is nothing serious, which means he should start in Week 10 even though official word is unlikely to come from the team until game day. Watkins has 12 catches for 279 yards and three touchdowns over the last two games, so it's obvious his fantasy owners will want to get him in the lineup as long as he's ready to go against the Chiefs.

That's especially true considering he'd automatically be the focal point of the offense with running back Fred Jackson (groin) already being ruled out this Sunday. By extension, that likely means some hidden fantasy value for quarterback Kyle Orton, who's been impressive since taking over the starting job from sophomore E.J. Manuel. Orton managed to throw four touchdown passes on just 17 attempts against the New York Jets in Week 8 and while he won't always get the added benefit of excellent field position against the Chiefs like he did against the Jets, the veteran passer could find himself throwing the ball a lot if Boobie Dixon and Bryce Brown struggle to run the ball in Jackson's absence.
