Fantasy football projections, Week 10: Panthers-Eagles featuring Greg Olsen, Cam Newton and Mark Sanchez
We break down the Week 10 matchup between the Carolina Panthers and the Philadelphia Eagles.

Carolina Panthers
At least in terms of fantasy, quarterback Cam Newton is playing some of the worst football of his career. The former Auburn University star has thrown at least one interception in each of the last five games and has yet to eclipse 300 yards passing in a game all season. The last three weeks have proved to be particularly troublesome for Newton, as he’s averaged less than 200 passing yards a game over that span only thrown a single touchdown. That said, the game against an Eagles’ secondary unit that gives up the fourth-most fantasy points to wide receivers could be just what the doctor ordered for fantasy owners hoping that Newton can finally bounce back and put together a big game.
Play Fanduel, Win big money
In order to do that, he will have to find his rhythm early in the game in Week 10, and that likely means a lot of looks for tight end Greg Olsen. After being targeted at least eight times in three straight games going back to the beginning of October, Olsen has seen just seven passes come his way over the last two contests. His numbers are reflective of the lack of looks. While it’s definitely not Olsen’s fault Newton has proved inconsistent, but fantasy owners will need both of them to be on the same page if the tight end is to cash in this week against Philadelphia. Olsen is normally the one sure bet in the Panthers’ offense to put up a healthy stat line, so although the Eagles give up fewer fantasy points to tight ends than any other team in the league, Olsen should still be a good bet to produce some points.
Philadelphia Eagles
While quarterback Nick Foles (collarbone) doesn’t need to have season-ending surgery, it looks like he will be out of the lineup for at least six weeks, which means that at least for the immediate future, the Eagles’ passing game rests in the hands of Mark Sanchez. Sanchez completed four passes in a row as soon as he came into the game, and all the more to wide receiver Jeremy Maclin. The former New York Jets quarterback and in the afternoon with 202 passing yards and a pair of touchdown tosses, which was an awesome performance considering the circumstances. Sanchez will look to pick apart a Panthers defense that his found itself involved in a lot of shootouts so far this season. If that’s the way the game pans out, Sanchez will bring a surprising amount of value to his fantasy owners this week.
Aside from tossing touchdowns to Maclin, Sanchez will also have the benefit of being able to hand the ball off to running back LeSean McCoy. McCoy has had a subpar year by his own standards, but still manages to be an elite fantasy running back just based on the fact that he gets so many touches in coach Chip Kelly’s offense. Although he only has one rushing touchdown of the season, Shady has 249 rushing yards over the last three games and appears to be turning it on at the right time for the Eagles. Fantasy owners should start him as they normally would. McCoy could very well be poised for his first monster outing of the season in Week 10.
