Another game, another frustrating fantasy performance out of Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton. He has gone for more than 18 fantasy points in a game only once all season, a disappointing trend that continued in Sunday's 31-13 loss at the hands of the Minnesota Vikings.
Fantasy football waiver wire, Week 14: Cam Newton’s struggles continue
The Carolina quarterback has only one big game on the whole season, and that wasn’t Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Newton completed 18-of-35 passes Sunday for 194 yards, with one touchdown and one interception. He added 49 rushing yards, giving Newton 13 fantasy points in the game. For the season, the quarterback has averaged 14.6 fantasy points a game, a total that drops to 12.8 if you take out his 33 fantasy points in Week 6.
Fantasy impact: It’s definitely clear this is going to wind up as Newton’s worst season as a professional. Through 11 games, he now has 2,586 passing yards with 13 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. On the running side, Newton has 342 yards and two touchdowns. It’s far below what we have come to expect out of the quarterback.
Any fantasy team that had been relying on Newton probably jumped ship some time ago, but anyone who was still holding out should feel safe to move on now. There might not be a better option out there on the wire, but definitely keep an eye out.
