Carolina Panthers' running back DeAngelo Williams has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints. Williams has a hand injury he sustained in Carolina's most recent game. He's only played in six games this year, and has just 63 carries for 219 yards, on track for the lowest total of his career.
DeAngelo Williams injury update: Panthers RB out; Jonathan Stewart has limited fantasy value
Carolina Panthers’ running back DeAngelo Williams has been ruled out for Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Williams will be replaced by Jonathan Stewart. The pair of veteran running backs have combined for one of the most potent rushing combinations over the years, but both have missed time with injury this season and neither are running particularly well. Whatever the case, Stewart is coming off his best game this season, having put up 85 yards off of 12 carries against the Minnesota Vikings.
Fantasy Impact: Stewart has 96 carries for 408 yards and two touchdowns. He'll likely have some fantasy value on Sunday, as the Panthers will want to run the ball early and often. But if Drew Brees and the Saints get ahead, the Panthers will have to turn to the passing game, making Stewart, as usual, a risky fantasy play.
