Offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton said on Thursday that the Indianapolis Colts expect "to be able to run the football" this season.
Colts hope to run more, but might not help Trent Richardson’s fantasy football value
Colts offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton said Indianapolis will try to get the run game going this season. We break down the fantasy implications.

The Colts were 20th in the league in rushing yards last season, and the acquisition of running back Trent Richardson didn't help them. The former Brown averaged a woeful 2.9 yards per carry while adding only four touchdowns in 14 games.
Meanwhile, quarterback Andrew Luck will enter his third season and seems poised for more responsibility with some added weapons to his arsenal. There's nothing wrong with hopeless optimism before the season starts, but it's going to be hard for the Colts to lean on their running game to help protect their franchise quarterback.
Fantasy impact: Richardson's preseason didn't help his case for touches, and Ahmad Bradshaw coming in at close to 100 percent poses a serious threat to this becoming a running back by committee. Fantasy owners may want to add Bradshaw in all leagues while Richardson owners may want to wait a couple weeks to see if the boom-or-bust back was worth their mid-round gamble on draft day. Luck owners shouldn't worry about this quote, and he's a strong QB1 this week in what could be a shootout against the Denver Broncos.
