New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham has already been ruled out for the team's season opener against the Detroit Lions. Beckham did not practice throughout the week and never had a realistic shot at suiting up in Week 1.
Odell Beckham injury update: Giants WR ruled out, won’t play for fantasy owners
The Giants rookie wide receiver has been ruled out for the season opener. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy Impact: Beckham’s hamstring injury has forced him to miss time dating back to the team’s OTAs. Rookies have typically never received significant playing time under head coach Tom Coughlin. Beckham has a lot of ground to make up before he can creep onto the the fantasy radar in re-draft leagues. Even if he was active, the Giants’ struggles on offense have been well documented with the team transitioning to the West Coast scheme under new offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo.
Victor Cruz will remain the team's top receiving threat and Rueben Randle has some upside if he can get on the same page with quarterback Eli Manning. Jerrel Jernigan will work as the No. 3 receiver but isn't an inspiring option. His three-year career has been underwhelming and his best games last year came when Cruz was out of the lineup. Jernigan hasn't shown much ability to make plays outside of the slot which is where Cruz will see the most work. He's not a recommended play in Week 1.
