Vernon Davis is currently on pace to score 32 touchdowns in 2014. He caught four passes for 44 yards and two touchdowns in Week 1 against the Dallas Cowboys, picking up right where he left off from last season.
Vernon Davis scores twice for fantasy owners in Week 1
Half of Davis’ receptions in Week 1 went for touchdowns. That’s a solid ratio to start the season.

Davis was the second-most targeted player on the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, finishing with six targets from Colin Kaepernick. He scored one touchdown from 29 yards out and the other from 2 yards away.
Fantasy impact: There were only four regular season games for the 49ers in 2013 that Davis did not score a touchdown in. Even with Michael Crabtree back, Davis continues to make the most of his value as a red zone target.
While Davis’ numbers might be volatile week to week based on his ability to score, he’s still a must-start due to games like Week 1. Kaepernick will continue to look for his starting tight end when the offense drives closer to the end zone.
