Pittsburgh Steelers receiver Martavis Bryant will not play on Thursday. He is serving the fourth and final game of his suspension for violating the league's substances abuse policy.
Martavis Bryant update: Suspended for one more game, will have fantasy value
Fantasy owners are going to be without Martavis Bryant for one more week. We break down the fantasy implications.
The Steelers need him badly. Receiver Antonio Brown is crushing it on the stat sheet, ranking second in yardage for the league. On the downside, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is going to miss the next 4-6 weeks due to an MCL sprain, so the overall upside of the receivers isn't as high.
In the preseason, Bryant tore it up with 215 yards, eight catches and two scores. He had two 40-yard catches and was one of the most impressive field-stretching receivers in August. Nobody else besides Brown has stepped up, so the snaps and targets will be there for the taking. Although he probably won’t completely blow up until Ben is back, Vick had a sweet pass to Bryant in the preseason:
Fantasy impact: Bryant could be a WR2 rather quickly once he gets back. Make sure he’s not on the wire. Meanwhile, Brown is the only receiver in play this week.
