Houston Texans running back Arian Foster looked good in practice on Thursday, according to Texans TV’s Drew Dougherty. Foster has not yet played in 2015 after tearing his groin muscle in the preseason.
Arian Foster participates in practice on Thursday, fantasy status on the up and up
Houston Texans running back Arian Foster participated in practice on Thursday and his chances of returning in the near future appear optimistic. We break down the fantasy implications.
Fantasy impact: It’s still anybody’s guess as to whether or not Foster will be able to play in the team’s game against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, but for now it appears that the possibility of him starting is more likely than it has been at any other point this year.
When healthy, Foster is one of the most dynamic rushers in the NFL. He can make people miss off the line of scrimmage and he’s a very effective pass catcher. Given that the Texans have two average quarterbacks under center this season, Foster figures to be the biggest part of the team’s offense from the second he returns to the lineup.
A decision as to whether or not he will play will likely come on game day and, if he does start against the Falcons, Foster will automatically be a top running back option given that the Dallas Cowboys’ Joseph Randle ran all over Atlanta last week.
Fantasy owners who drafted Foster in the middle rounds hoping to get an added boost from him in the middle of the season are licking their chops to get him in the lineup. It sounds like it’s going to happen sooner rather than later.
