In what feels like an annual matchup, the New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts face off Sunday night. Not that the rivalry needed any more fire, but the offseason kerfuffle surrounding the teams should give this game even more heat.
Fantasy football advice, Week 6: Who to start/sit for Patriots vs. Colts on Sunday night
Well this game will be interesting, if absolutely nothing else.
For the Patriots, running back Dion Lewis is questionable as he deals with an abdomen injury. He’s expected to play, though the game’s late start could prove problematic for fantasy owners. On the Colts’ side, the biggest question is quarterback Andrew Luck, who has been sidelined with injury. After a full practice Friday, Luck looks likely to play. Wide receiver T.Y. Hilton will also likely play after some midweek injury concerns.
The Colts will host the Patriots Sunday, with gametime scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET. Let’s take a look at the fantasy names to consider:
PATRIOTS
Start ‘em: There’s not much left to say about Tom Brady at this point other than “start him.” ... The Colts matchup is always a good one for LeGarrette Blount, who should have a big game. ... Both Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski have been fantasy monsters. ... Stephen Gostkowski is great. The Patriots’ defense is great. Not much else there, either.
Start ‘em?: Normally, Dion Lewis would be a must-start here. The only problem is the nagging injury. With the late game start, fantasy owners either need to be sure he’ll play or have a backup option in case of a late scratch.
Sit ‘em: Until Brandon LaFell returns, the Patriots don’t really have a viable second wide receiver. Danny Amendola and Aaron Dobson just aren’t that.
COLTS
Start ‘em: Everyone expects Andrew Luck to make his return Sunday, which makes him again a must-start. ... Frank Gore has rebounded from a bad start to the season to average 13.7 fantasy points his last three games. ... T.Y. Hilton and Donte Moncrief have made for a fine 1-2 punch this season. Both are mid-range WR2s. ... After some early troubles, Adam Vinatieri again looks like a must-start kicker.
Sit ‘em: The Colts signed Ahmad Bradshaw this week, and he might play, but leave him out of your lineups for now. ... Despite a great Week 5, Andre Johnson still needs to be outside fantasy lineups. ... Dwayne Allen and Coby Fleener steal targets from one another. ... The Colts’ defense against the New England offense? No thank you.
