Fantasy football advice, Week 6: Who to start/sit for Giants vs. Eagles on Monday night

Through five weeks of the season, the New York Giants lead the NFC East with a 3-2 record, while the Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys and Washington are all sitting at 2-3. The Giants and Eagles face off Monday, meaning the winner will sit in first in the division six weeks into the year.

The Giants have all sorts of concerns with their wide receivers this week. Victor Cruz is once again out. Rueben Randle is expected to play despite a hamstring injury. Odell Beckham Jr., though, is the big concern. The second-year receiver didn’t practice all week, but the team has said he could play without any practice. He’s questionable with his hamstring issues, but with the game’s late start, fantasy owners need to have a backup plan in place in the event Beckham can’t go. On the Philadelphia side, wide receiver Nelson Agholor is out with an ankle injury. Running back Ryan Mathews was a late add to the injury report as well with a groin injury, though he’s expected to play.

The Eagles will host the Giants Monday, with the game scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET. Here’s a look at the fantasy names to consider:

Start ‘em: After a rough week 1, Eli Manning has forced his way into fantasy lineups with 21 fantasy points a game the last four weeks. ... Josh Brown has been an elite kicker this year.

Start ‘em?: If you’re using a New York running back, it’s Rashad Jennings, though he’s far from a sure thing. ... This Odell Beckham Jr. injury is frustrating. You’re using him if he’s active, of course, but with the game being on Monday, fantasy owners might not be able to afford to wait and see. If you have Beckham, you need to have another option in Monday’s game on your bench as insurance. ... Rueben Randle hasn’t been great this year, but with Beckham banged up, he could be the team’s top receiver. ... Larry Donnell at least offers a couple of points every week, and has as good a chance at a touchdown as most any tight end. ... The Giants defense has been competent; if the Philadelphia offense flashes back to its struggles, this play would have upside.

Sit ‘em: Neither Shane Vereen nor Andre Williams is getting enough consistent usage to be in fantasy lineups.

Start ‘em: We finally saw a big game from DeMarco Murray in Week 5; he’s back to being in all lineups.

Start ‘em?: After back-to-back decent games, Sam Bradford is actually on the fantasy radar now for the first time all season, but he needs to prove more to actually be a must-start. ... Jordan Matthews had a productive first two weeks, but has gone cold since. He’s a flex play at best. ... With Nelson Agholor out, Josh Huff could be a sneaky desperation play, coming off a big Week 5. ... The Eagles’ defense has had its moments, and could take advantage of the Beckham injury Monday.

Sit ‘em: Now that Murray looks to be sorted out, Ryan Mathews and Darren Sproles are just backup options. ... Zach Ertz still hasn’t impressed, and Brent Celek has been stealing some of his targets. ... Caleb Sturgis had a huge Week 5, but overall there’s a reason he was unemployed three weeks ago.
