The New Orleans Saints had to start Luke McCown for Week 3's contest, but it appears Week 4's game will have their preferred quarterback under center.
Drew Brees expected to start Sunday for Saints, fantasy owners
The Saints will get their leader back onto the field after having to sideline him for Week 3. We break down the fantasy implications.
Drew Brees is expected to start on Sunday, according to NFL Network's Rand Getlin, who heard this from coach Sean Payton. Brees missed Week 3 due to a rotator cuff injury that he suffered after taking a nasty hit in Week 2 vs. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The veteran signal-caller finished the game, but was ineffective throughout.
Fantasy impact: The Saints are desperate to get back on track following an 0-3 start, and having Brees in action vs. a Dallas Cowboys team that won't have Tony Romo or Dez Bryant provides a good venue to bounce back. Fantasy owners can pen Brees back into their QB slots amid a favorable matchup that will have him in the mid-QB1 range.
Fantasy owners who have invested in the Saints offense can also express less concern regarding Brandin Cooks, Mark Ingram and C.J. Spiller, although several factors must be considered for each of them. But with Brees back in action, all three should get a boost in value.
