Fantasy football projections, Week 4: Jaguars-Colts featuring Allen Hurns, Andrew Luck and Frank Gore
We break down the Week 4 matchup between the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Indianapolis Colts.
Jacksonville Jaguars
Recounting fantasy performances by Jaguars players from last week’s game against the New England Patriots is almost pointless. The team allowed New England to score on every single possession they had in the game, which means most of what the Jaguars produced was with the game out of reach. Allen Robinson finished with four catches for 68 yards, but was held out of the end zone. He’s the team’s best player though its obvious there will be weeks when any meaningful fantasy production is simply out of reach.
The only other player worth owning on the Jaguars’ roster is rookie running back T.J. Yeldon. Yeldon ran for just 33 yards on 11 carries last week. It’s hardly fair to be harsh on him considering the team had to abandon the running game while playing an impossible game of catch up against one of the league’s Super Bowl favorites. Yeldon has some upside heading into the game against the Colts, a team that’s 21st overall against the run.
Indianapolis Colts
At times last week it appeared that the Colts may be going into this Sunday’s game against the Jaguars winless in the season’s first three games. Fortunately, turnovers created by the defense aided quarterback Andrew Luck in stealing last week’s game late against the Tennessee Titans. Luck is still throwing too many interceptions and having trouble taking care of the football, but he’s a high-volume passer and it’s clear that Donte Moncrief has emerged as an explosive target that can complement No. 1 receiver T.Y. Hilton. Luck should pounce all over the Jaguars in Week 4.
So should running back Frank Gore. Gore finally broke out for his first solid game of the season last week. He rushed 14 times for 86 yards and managed to find the end zone twice. If the game against the Jaguars gets out of hand early, Gore could find himself eating up the clock while stacking up the fantasy points on Sunday.
